Chris Austin began her artistic journey by taking a stained glass class with her daughter Chelsea. The bonding experience became a passion and led to experimenting with the more fluid medium of fused glass.

Chris established her studio in Solana Beach in 2002 and is considered an up-and-coming fused glass artist. Each of her pieces features a unique design hand-cut and fired into a work of art both beautiful and functional.

Chris's work evokes the clean lines of the architecture from the 1950's and 1960's and clearly bows to her love of vintage clothes, ceramics and glass. Yet her pieces definitely veer into all-new territory as well. Chris has a natural eye for color and design and she has experimented with many mediums.

The fusion of superb brilliance, color and strength coupled with function make this glasswork Chris's primary artistic obsession.
